My NHS Dentist Refused To Give Me Braces For Free. Is There Any Way I Could Afford This Treatment?

Q.
Hello Dr Hughes. I have a bit of a gap between my front teeth which is 1 cm long. My two teeth are not straight and they stick out. This is due to me sucking my thumb since childhood. I feel like my gap is getting bigger and it sometimes hurts. I have been to several dentist within NHS however they refuse to give me braces for free. What treatment would you advise for me? I am interested in the 6 month smile treatment. How would I be able to afford this? Thank you, I look forward to your reply.

Hello, thank you for writing in. It’s sounds like an orthodontic solution would help you. You could consider a finance or payment plan, these are available with most cosmetic practices. It’s difficult for me to tell you exactly which treatment you require without seeing you in person. This website has information on the various brace treatments, it might be worthwhile to read through them so you understand what they can do for you. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Mark.
