My New Braces Have Made My Teeth Very Sensitive, Should I Go To My Dentist?
Q.
hello dr, to give you some context, i have had the 6 month smile braces fitted . I am now into my 7th week and i have really sensitive and shooting pains in one of my teeth especially at the lower side.when i drink hot or cold drinks it really sends a shooting pain which is pretty awful to be honest with you. It’s really sharp and disturbs me especially during social occasions like meals, drinks out with friends etc. I’d like to know is this just the teeth moving or is something hitting the nerve. It’s not sore all the time also when i touch the tooth it feels like its slack and has movement.

Hello there! Thanks so much for your question. Braces are always a hot topic and there are some complications like this that just have to be dealt with. In your specific case I’d advise that this type of pain can and does occur. It is especially prevalent when particular teeth are trying to move it should go away take some pain relief if that does not help go and see your dentist.
