My Incisor Stops Me Having Braces, How Can I Resolve This Without A Crown?

Q.
Hi Dr Hughes. so i have a little bit protruding teeth on my two upper teeth. Back then, i visited my dentist to have more info about braces. unfortunately, i can’t have them as my upper lateral incisor doesn’t have the same size. the one on the left side is slightly smaller than the right side. he said that i can have braces if i agree to get the smaller tooth crown.so, i really have to make sure that, can i have my braces on without having any crowns or bonding etc? because for some reason, don’t ask me why, i really disagree with the idea of having any crowns or bonding on my tooth.

I would suggest you go for a second opinion. Without seeing the situation it’s not easy to give accurate advice about your query but theoretically it may be possible. If there is a tooth size discrepancy however, your teeth can be straightened but they would look asymmetrical due to the size differences and maybe some bonding or a veneer(s) would be needed to get the best final result?

I’d find a very experienced cosmetic dentist near you who also has a lot of knowledge about orthodontics and get some advice and options before committing

Best wishes
