My gums have receded by about 10mm, how can I repair them?

Q.
Hello
My question is one mainly involving my gums. They have receeded from their original position upon my teeth by about 10mm and i would like to ask if there are any procedures available that could repair them? This problem affects my confidence when smiling, especially if it is for a photo.
I also would like gaps that i have fixed so that i would eventually have a smile to be proud of,but, after already spending in excess of £350 i am of course looking for,as im sure you hear regularly, the cheapest procedure possible. Thank you for your time though, and i hope to hear from you soon.

If your gums have receded by such a large amount then you may well need the attention of both a cosmetic dentist and a gum specialist, a periodontist. A collaborative approach might be required. It would be vital before you have any aesthetic procedures to ensure that your gums are completely healthy so please have this assessed first. A cost effective solution to mask large areas of gum recession is a removable section of ‘fake’ gum. You should speak to your dentists about whether or not this solution would work for your situation. Cosmetic dental bonding may also be a viable option.

Kind regards

Mark
