my gums are shrinking and I want a confident smile

Q. I am 57 years old and have shrinkage of the gums i have all my own teeth apart from a bridge at the bottom with 2 teeth on it .which i lost to loosening of the teeth hence gum shrinkage. would love a confident smile what can i do.

A. If your gums are healthy you may be a good candidate for a smile makeover. Veneers may be an option to restore your teeth, give you a beautiful, broad, straight white smile. The gums can be reshaped with a laser to make them look less receeded and give them a rounder shape. It is very difficult to advise you without seeing your teeth and looking at your gums to check whether they are healthy. It is always possible to improve your smile and feel confident when showing it off. If you are in the Buckinghamshire area or are willing to travel then I would be more than happy to see you for consultation to discuss different treatment options with you. Failing that, have a consultation with a dentist that is used to carrying out restorative as well cosmetic procedures and make sure that the dentist you see has a knowledge of ‘occlusion’. This is the study of how teeth fit together and how the jaws function. This is crucial if you are going to embark on any restorative or cosmetic procedures.
I hope this has helped you,
Kind Regards
