My Gums Are Receding From Over-brushing. I Now Have A Good Oral Health Regime. Is There Any Treatment That Can Help Me?

Q.
Hello Dr Patel, I’m hoping for some advice. I have very thin gums at the bottom front of my mouth and receding on one tooth. This is due to overbrushing. I now follow a strict oral regime including brushing in small circular motions using a soft bristled toothbrush, flossing and using interdental brushes, at night time and taking vitamin supplements. The thinning and receding is causing me much distress and anxiety. What are my treatment options? Can anything be done about this or should I just continue my regime. Thanks, I hope you can help me with this problem.

Hello. The best option now is a technique called pinhole gum rejuvenation I am one of a handful of dentist trained in this procedure, we can thicken and reposition the gums and provide more support for your teeth. This website has further information on treatment for gum disease to help you also. I hope this helps. Kind regards, Dr Riten Patel.
