My front tooth was filed down to be even can they be lengthened when the crown are put on

Q. I broke my front two teeth when I was young and they had to be filed down to be even. I had a root canal on one of the front teeth. Can they be lengthened when the crowns are put on them? There is a space between my top and bottom teeth in the center when I smile.

A. Yes they can be lengthened to some degree. Perhaps it would be worth asking your dentist for a trial smile using provisional crowns so you are 100% happy with them before the final crowns are made
