I had my two top front teeth filed at the dentist when I was 15 as I resembled a rabbit. It didn't seem to do much and they now look exactly the same. I recently had all four wisdom teeth pulled after they finally grew and my dentist seemed to think I would still not need a brace as there would be extra room in my mouth. I still cannot close it properly when I talk or eat though as the two front teeth get in the way of my lips and I end up spitting all the time which is disgusting. My top lip is quite short which makes this problem worse. The rest of my teeth are a normal size, straight and healthy. I am 23 and do not want a brace now as I have enough trouble talking and it would affect my job. But I am wary of getting the two teeth filed again as this did not seem to help and I am told as I have very long roots they can only file so much - they need to remove about 0.5mm to be a similar length to the other teeth. They stick out forwards as well (where my mouth was so crowded before) and I am not sure this will help. My NHS dentist isn't a lot of help, but I can't afford to pay for private fees, so I am researching online so I can just tell him what I want to have done when I see him next.
