My Father’s Dentures Are Causing Him Extreme Pain, Can We Arrange Treatment?
Q.
I’m making this inquiry on behalf of my father who is petrified of the dentist and has not been for years. His teeth are getting so bad it’s affecting his life, he can’t eat, is in pain and is more to the point very embarrassed about it all, I can’t talk to him about it as he just goes very quiet but it’s making him miserable and us along with him, I feel if I find the right solution for him then he will make the move and get his teeth sorted out once and for all but I don’t know who to turn to? His whole top layer are false dentures which are ill fitted and he needs at least a new set of those but his bottom teeth he can’t even brush they are that sore, I can not imagine the daily pain he is putting up with but I want to help him (they could need all taking out) I need someone to help us and give us the options, he has had a lot of trouble with his teeth since being 13 years old having smashed his teeth on the ice (hence the dentures) so he has several problems around fear, pain, embarrassment etc, please could you help or point me in the right direction, cost is not the issue it’s getting him happy again.

Hello, the first step is to find a dentist who treats anxious patients perhaps offering sedation as it sounds like he needs major work doing, I’d be very happy to see him for a full consultation as it sounds like he would benefit from implant supported dentures or fixed teeth as this is something I do on a daily basis.
