My Dentist Said I No Longer Have Enough Bone For Dental Implants. Could You Give Me Second Opinion, Please?

Q.
Hello Andrew. I hope you can help me with my enquiry. When I was around the age of 13 I had an accident. I knocked my two front teeth out. I was told at the time I needed to wait whilst I was 18 to have dental implants and was given a denture to use in the meantime.

I have been saving the money, I am now 19 and recently went to a dental implant surgeon based where I live. I explained what had happened I got sent for a CT scan and it shows that I have hardly any bone their, the dentist said he doesn’t think I should do it, as the implants may look stupid. Could you give me a second opinion please? Thank you for your time.

A.
Hello. It’s difficult without seeing you, but it would be worth thinking about finding another dentist to look at your scan as its often possible for experienced implant dentists to rebuild the bone prior to placing implants. This can be achieved in a variety of ways. If you would like to find out more regarding dental implants, you can read up on the treatment through the pages on this website. Best wishes, Dr Andrew Moore.
