My dentist has suggested that I have most of my teeth removed. Is there another option?

Q. I have serious gum recession to my lower teeth and slight to my uppers, also a broken molar to my lower and 2 molars upper and lower which are loose. I have also crown and bridge work to my upper teeth which are now exposing metal and slightly pertruding! My Dentist has advise that I have most of my teeth removed and I am terrified at the thought! Help! I can not bear the thought of wering Dentures!,
