My daughter lost her front tooth…dental implants?
Q. Dear Dr Riten Patel,
My daughter lost her front tooth the tooth was put back in 5 hours later, she had root canal treatment which didnt work, the dentist said the tooth is hanging on by a tread and it needs to come out, she can have a denture and then a bridge, she is 19 years old, i dont want other teeth damaged, what is the best option for her, ive been thinking about implants, but i dont know what the best thing is. P.F.

A. Dear P.F.
Firstly i am so sorry to hear what happened to your daughter she is so young and anything done to her front teeth can have serious affects on her confidence. Thankfully there are lots of things we can do. I personally think the best option is a dental implant. It is the longest lasting restoration and protects all the other teeth. I would suggest an implant, then a temporary bridge can be placed while the implant is healing. The bridges we use have no effect on the other teeth as none of the other teeth are prepared. I hope this helps.
