My Daughter Is Four And Two Of Her Teeth Have Grown Slanted. What Could The Reason For This Be. Is This Anything To Worry About?

Q.
My daughter who is 4 years old now has two 2 lower inward slanting teeth. All her other teeth are normal. What could be the reason for this? Is this something to worry about?
She got her first teeth exactly when she turned 1 year old. Two lower teeth are slanting inwards face-to-face. When we consulted with a paediatrician, they told us that there was nothing to worry about. I haven’t consulted a dentist yet. I look forward to hearing your reply.

Hello and thank you for getting in touch. It sounds like you have nothing to worry about as these types of alignment issues are common in children of that age. It may be a good idea to take her to a dentist to have a look properly to ease your worries. Orthodontic correction is something you may want to keep an eye on as she gets older. I would also advise you to consult a dentist for any further problems relating to the teeth as there is little a paediatrician can do. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Dr Marcus Gambroudes.
