My crowns have fallen out, can I get them rebonded?

Q.
Both of my dental crowns just came off tonight after having them put on about 10 years ago following a dual root canal on the two molars immediately behind my canine tooth. Is it possible to have my dental crowns rebond ? If it is possible, how much does it usually cost to have them re-bonded? If it isn’t possible, what are my other options? At the moment, there is no pain, but I am freaking out alot because I can feel my teeth that had been ground down.
A.
Yes it amy be possible to have then re-bonded but that woudl depend on the integrity of the crowns and of the supporting tooth structure underneath. If they have broken off and taken the supporting tooth away with them , then they would likely need to be repalced and some other procedures carried out to help support any new crowns as well

Best thing to do would be to get to see a dentist immediately to have the problems assessed

I have had three implants for almost eight years, the crowns have constantly kept coming out and abitument of one of them broke within a few months of having the implant fitted. i went back to the dentist who carried out the procedure, he attempted to extract the crown but failed and said to me it will be okay. I suffered that for two years before going to another dentist as I did not trust the workmanship of the dentist who carried out the procedure. It is now costing me almost £4000 to have them replaced. Do I have the right to request that the dentist who carried out the implants pay for the work that now has to be done

mini implants are an unproven alternative to regular implants and for that reason they are generally cheaper. i personally can’t recommend them to you for the replacement of teeth unless they are used to hold a removable denture.

Will orthofill work for central incisor gap? what is the cheapest solution for the rest, many thanks in advanced,

It sounds like a combination of fixed or Invisalign braces with implants for the missing molar teeth might work out best.

Hi had a front cerec fittied some 2 months ago. I get a horrible smell coming from the front of the tooth if I press my finger from the gum downwards. There is no swelling in the gum and my Dentist has taken an X-Ray of the tooth which appears ok. The tooth looks well fitted although is narrower at the gum margin than my previous one which I had for 35 years. I only changed it because I was feeling a sensivity in it and thought it had ‘had it’s day’. Could the cerec be ill fitting at the gum margin allowing bacteria to develop. I can push dental floss right up to the centre of the tooth on both sides.

It might be, try brushing Corsodyl gel into the gum margin 2x a day for 2 weeks and see if it gets better before thinking about replacing it

I have 2 crowns for my two front teeth Which I had put in about 4 years ago I had a baby 3 months ago and I now have a gap in my front teeth which was never there before I was pregnant . My dentist said I have bone loss is there anything I can do to close the gap in between the 2 front teeth which are crowns and what will happen if my crowns need replacing in the future or fall out will I be left with no 2 front teeth or will something be possible to replace them ?

You probably need to worry more about getting your gums sorted out first before you start with new crowns to close the gap.

I have a crown with a post on one of my incisor teeth as the tooth was too far back and the crown brought it in line with my front teeth. The crown has started to move and the bottom front of the tooth has moved forward enough to catch on the inside of my lip. My new dentist has said there is nothing that he can do for me as if he takes the crown off, he would have trouble getting the post out as well to enable him to put a new post and crown on. I would greatly appreciate your advice. Regards

It sounds like a difficult tooth to treat, he might be right that if the crown comes off then you may need a bridge or implant to replace the tooth in the future

Before crowning my dentist could only find x3canals in a molar tooth. Now some years after I am being referred to an endodontic specialist, who will drill through the crown and treat the root!??? 1.what chance of finding the root this time? 2.likely cost? 3.can I get some financial help/part payment NHS etc? 4.Is There danger to my prosthetic replacement hips ,by transferred infection from this site (the tooth) or from the procedure of re-treatment? 5.Too late now,but should not my dentist have made a referral to an endodontist to ensure all canals were sealed ,before fitting the crown? V ery anxious(and sleepless) patient!please help if you can

I think that the best person to answer all your questions would be the specialist to whom you have been referred
