My Crowns Are Too Big. Could I Have Them Removed And Use Braces To Close My Gap?

Q.
Hello Andrew. I had crowns fitted to my two front teeth over fifteen years ago to close a gap. Since having this done I have deeply regretted this as my front teeth look too large in comparison to the rest of my teeth. This has affected my self-confidence greatly. I have recently seen the six month smile brace and I was wondering if I had the crowns removed then replaced to leave a gap would the brace work to close the gap? Thank you in advance for your reply.

Hello and thank you for writing in. It really depends how big the space is, it might be best to consider the brace to close the space as much as possible before replacing the crowns to finish things off. I would have to see you in person to suggest a really suitable treatment option however. You should find a local dentist who offers free consultations and see how they can help. If you’d like more information in the meantime on the various treatments you can find it through this website. I hope this helps, Dr Andrew Moore.
