My Crown Keeps Falling Out. What Can I Do If The Gap Is Too Small For An Implant?

Q.
Hi Mark. I have a small crown next to my front tooth which I have had for nearly 20 years, which keeps falling out. I have been told the gap is too small for implants or screw in teeth. What are the options I have? If I have to keep it what is the best way of making sure it stays attached to my other teeth as it is very embarrassing.  It is right at the front of my smile. It has been stuck in with cements three or four times but they don’t seem to be able to secure it. Thank you for your reply in advance.

If there is not enough space for an implant (or a bridge) then you could consider orthodontic treatment to make more space? This would likely be the ideal first place to start. A bridge option may also be considered, where the adjacent teeth are re-shaped in such a way as to create more space for the ‘false’ tooth on the bridge.

There are lost of ways the situation could be corrected – my advice is to seek help from an experienced cosmetic or restorative dentist as it seems like you have not been presented with all the treatment possibilities and for the best results you want someone very skilled and/or experienced to do the work for you. Regards,  Mark.
