My back tooth is cracked can it be saved
Q. My back tooth, #18, had a root canal. Instead of getting a crown I had a filing. My tooth cracked in the back, in middle. Is there anyway to save my tooth?
A. It all depends on whether the crack has gone through the root or more superficially. Unfortunately if the crack is through the root this usually means the tooth needs to be removed. If the crack is more superficially a crown will be required to restore the tooth and to reduce the chances of future problems.
