Q. Hi, my 7 year old daughters 2 front teeth have come 2 months before but with large gap.the canines have not come yet.will the gap be closed automatically?if not pls suggest .
A. It is a good sign that your daughters deciduous teeth (baby teeth) are quite spaced. This means that when her permanent teeth come through, there is enough space for them. As your daughter’s front 2 teeth have already erupted and the space is still there- this may close naturally when the canines erupt. The canines usually erupt at around 11 yrs- but this varies from child to child. As your daughter is only 7, then I’m sure there is nothing to be worried about. if the spacing is still thereĀ when she is older, she may need a brace. Braces are becoming quite the trend of late, so I’m almost sure that this won’t be a problem!
