My 2 year old’s back teeth haven’t come through, is this a problem?

Q.
Hello,

I have a 2 yr old daughter, all her teeth have nearly come through but not the back ones.

The teeth at the bottom are positioned in front of the top ones, but she doesnt look to have her chin sticking out.

Also the top teeth are on a slant and the top tooth line is uneven as a result.

It doesnt bother her when eating, but id like to know what to expect in the future in terms of what could happen with the 2nd teeth and will she need a brace and the uneven top teeth.

Many Thanks

A.
Unfortunately at 2 years old, this is too early to really know what your daughter’s adult teeth are going to be like, or if she will require any kind of orthodontic work.

I always recommend that children start visiting the dentist regularly as soon as they have their baby teeth. This helps to familiarise them with the dental environment but it will also mean the dentist can monitor the teeth. That way when they are approx 7-10 years old you and your dentist can decide if your child requires an orthodontic consultation.
