My 2 front teeth are too large and my baby tooth is too small what can I do …do I need braces?

Q. My two front teeth are too large and are far longer than the rest (beaver-ish), i also have a baby tooth which is the next tooth along and very small so in comparison so the front teeth look awful!….i want my front teeth made shorter and the baby tooth made bigger!….how is this possible?…will it take years of braces?! P.D.

A. Dear P.D., Orthodontics can certainly straighten you teeth and can be completed in 4-18 months depending on the severity of your smile. However, orthodontics can only make small differences to the shapes of your teeth. In the past I have treated smiles like yours with a combination of orthodontics ( to align your teeth) followed by porcelain veneers to create a beautiful smile.
Hope this helps
