My 18 yr old son as had his front tooth kicked out

Q. My 18 yr old son as had his front tooth kicked out is he to young to have a implant? A dentist as suggested a bridge. I beleive the 2 teeth next to the front will need to be be trimmed down? Will this not make his teeth look odd if he does decide to have a implant later on in life. Thanks

A. Hi  He’s just old enough for an implant. A conventional fixed bridge normally involves trimming the adjacent teeth so I would try to avoid this especially in a young patinet. When a bridge fails it normally take another tooth with it so I wouls always try to avoid a bridge if at all possible

Hope this helps  Andrew
