My 11-year-old needs orthodontic treatment, is a wire brace a good alternative to surgery?
Q.
My son is 11 years old .The dentist is quite concerned and have referred him to an orthodontist. His 2front teeth potrude out at the front and seem to be to big for his jaw. she mentioned a hospital appointment to have the jaw moved up, at that stage my son panicked. She said no need to worry it will maybe a wire brace pleaase could you explain what this means

They would always think about a non-surgical approach for a young child so a fixed brace is normally the treatment of choice, for severe malocclusions surgery can often help but age 11 is too young to consider this at the moment
