Mt tooth between my eye tooth and front tooth is broken

Q. my crown and tooth has broken. It is the upper tooth between the front and eye tooth. A bridge has been suggested but only attached to one tooth. Does this seem right? Would you advocate a plate?

A. this is perfectly normal practice if you don’t want to have a plate or implant. There are two types of bridge that you can have a maryland bridge where the false tooth is attached by a metal or white fibre wing to the tooth next to it. This type of bridge is less destructive to the tooth but can come off from time to time. Not everybody is suitable for this type. The other more permanent type of bridge is when one of your teeth is shaved down a little and a crown is made with the false tooth bonded to it. This is the better type of bridge to have as it is stronger and will beable to withstand the biting forces better.
Your dentist has offered you the right treatment. Of course if you don’t want to have a bridge you could replace the tooth with a denture or implant
I hope this helps
Kind Regards
