Mini implants - have the results of long-term clinical
Q. Mini implants - have the results of long-term clinical trials been finalised and if so what were the results? Periostat - what do you think of this new tablet for gum disease. Would it be easy for me to get my dentist to give me a prescription for this or can I get this over the counter?
A. With Implants and Mini Implants it is not so much the results from long term clinical trials that you need to be concerned about, because i am a firm believer it is the technique which is used to place them that affects the prognosis. Good case selection also. These treatments do work, provided you follow the criteria that is prescribed for them. Proper case selection and assessment will also improve success rates.
As for the periodontal treatments, the best treatment is still the things you do between appointments. Oral hygiene procedures, and flossing regularly will improve the success of other treatments.
