I’ve Wanted To Straighten My Teeth For A Long Time. Which Discreet Braces Are Most Suitable?

Q.
Hi. I’ve wanted to straighten my front
teeth for a long time as one slightly crosses over the other.
However I wanted a brace fitted for the shortest possible time and something clear so no one can tell I’m wearing one.
Which type of brace would you recommend?
I’ve looked at lingual and simpli5 but I’m unsure as to whether either would
be suitable as my front teeth cross at the bottom. Many thanks, it’s much appreciated.

Hello and thanks for getting in touch. The 2 options you really need to consider are Clear Aligners (Invisalign) and Lingual Braces (Incognito). The Clear Aligners are designed to be inconspicuous and offer a little more flexibility as to the type of cases that can be treated. They are many ways similar to a gum shield but very much thinner and made of a clear acrylic. The aligners are designed to be worn full-time or a minimum or 16 hours a day. One nice advantage is that they can be taken out on occasion, like eating for instance.

Lingual Braces are the ultimate in discrete as they are bonded to the back of the teeth and cannot be seen. The only disadvantage of this system is that it is only suitable for a limited number of cases. Specifically, those cases that allow enough room between the back of the upper teeth and fronts of the lowers to fit the brackets. in addition, Lingual Braces is a fairly specialist technique and it would be worth seeking the advice of an Orthodontic Specialist or a Dentist very experienced in the technique to ensure the best outcome.

I really hope this is helpful. Kind regards Marcus Gambroudes.
