I’ve Just Moved And My Son Isn’t Registered. He Has Toothache, Do I Have To Wait Till They Are Open, Or Is There Any Thing I Can Do Now?

Q.
Hi Mark. My son is 5 years old and is not registered with a dentist as we have not long recently moved. And the past couple of days he has been complaining/crying with toothache. I have been giving him children’s paracetamol but it seems to be getting worse. His school looked in his mouth and said his tooth was growing in the back but when I’ve looked in his mouth and the tooth is a bit black and it looks like it’s got a hole in. Is there anything I could do at this time or will I have to wait till when all the dentist are open? Thank you for your time.
A.
Take him to a dentist as soon as you possibly can either an NHS dentist that does emergencies or go privately to get pain relief for him. It sounds like tooth decay or possibly an impacted tooth. It’s a good idea to do a little research on some of the symptoms that might occur. This information is available through this website and is quite handy. Hopefully this helps. Kind regards, Mark.
