I’ve Had A Crown Fitted Which Seems To Be Affected By My Bite. I’m Concerned I’ll Do Further Damage. Is This Likely?
Q.
Hello Mark, I hope you can help as I have an issue that has me a bit worried. I have just had a crown fitted on my side tooth (After a root canal) but it seems a bit “long” and it’s always the first thing I “hit” whenever I bite down on anything. I am concerned that I will do further damage to it and that it won’t last as long as it should do with my bite affecting it’s function. Is this normal in your experience? What would you advise me to do about this? Could you tell me if it is likely to be under guarantee? Any information you can provide would be of great help to me. Thank you for your time.

Hello and thank you for getting in touch. My advice for you would be to speak to the dentist who fitted the crown and ask them to check it and ask about your options regarding this. It’s difficult for me to give you the thorough advice you require without seeing you in person and how your bite affects your crowns function. Kind regards, Mark.
