I’ve Been Told I Grind My Teeth And Now My Veneers Are Falling Apart. Is There A More Durable Option?

Q.
Hello Dr.Andrew. I had three veneers done on my front teeth two years back and later they started falling off. I was told by my doctor to use a mouth guard as I may be grinding teeth. Also I took all precautions as to maintain them like I don’t bite anything hard, etc. I don’t like them now, they keep on falling and I’ve tried every other option. Do I have any other option apart from veneers as I don’t want to continue with them? Or can I go for implants as veneers are an irreversible procedure? Please help me with this problem and thank you for your advice.

Hello. Thanks for writing in to discuss your problem. They might need changing to crowns as these can be stronger than veneers in difficult situations. I would suggest you try and get to the root cause of your teeth grinding as you may continue having problems if this is not addressed. It can often be caused by stress. I hope this helps. Best wishes, Dr Andrew Moore.
