It’s Time For Me To Consider Implants, Is It Better To Have Individual Implants Fitted Or A Group Of Four?

Q.
Hi, through an accident at age 11, I lost my 4 front teeth. I was fitted with a plate and that was replaced at 14. I’ve never had a minutes trouble with adapting to them and they have looked very natural. Today I had a consultation with a dentist nearby who advised me to have implants put in. He said as my gums were good with no disease and I had enough bone, implants would be no problem. I am now 54 and realise I’ve put this off for too long as the teeth on the plate have worn down so need replacing ASAP (although for 40 years he said they were remarkable, I’ve kept them very clean) anyway, could you please tell me what type of different implants there are to chose from. I’m at a loss at all the jargon! I really want to make the right decision and need help doing so. Also how much should I expect to pay for four implants. Lastly, is it better to have individual implants fitted or a group of four- if that makes sense. Many thanks.

Implants brands vary, I would go with the ones your dentist is happy with. In most cases its not necessary for individual implants to replace teeth but I can’t say for sure without seeing you first. As a guide the treatment could cost between £5000-8000 depending on the number of implants required. I hope this helps, Dr Andrew Moore.
