is there a problem with teeth whitening at 20 to remove stains

Q. Hi, I am 20 years old and am considering getting my teeth whitened. Is there any problem with my age? I have been reading that it is generally older people that get it done to remove stains etc, but then you see celebrities getting it done that are my age! Is there any problem in getting it done or any concerns, as i would much rather go through my life with white teeth than getting it done later on!! Thanks

A. The limiting factor is senstivitity. As teeth age, the nerve shrinks down the root, also the gum line stabilises in the late teens. If you are a 20 yr old with healthy teeth & gums,  dont have a problem with iced drinks etc then you should be fine.

It is likely that you will get some sensitvity during treatment that resolves after treatment. Do not keep going if it anything more than moderate
