Is the plate my only option because I have gum disease?
Q. I have Periodontal disease in my gums, which causes a lot of plaque to build up in my lower teath. I have a plate with three teeth in my top teeth, that don’t fit right, that has also pushed two teeth to the left and loosened them. I really want to take the rest of my teeth out. What I want to know is, is the plate my only option for both top and bottom because of the disease, or would I have an option of some kind of implants. It is also annoying to know what kind of insurance to go for to cover me for my treatment. Can you give me advice on what would be the best thing to do?,
A. Implants are an option to hold fixed teeth but only if the bone and gums are healthy enough. You need a full assessment and scan to decide this. as a rule most insurance companies won’t cover you for dental implant so you’ll have to pay it all yourself
