Is teeth whitening safe for people with gum problems?

Q.
I would like to have my teeth whitened proffesionally and was wondering if the procedure is safe on gums … I have “pockets” .
A.
If it’s done carefully and the correct treatment is chosen for you then yes it could well be possible. I would advise that a very low sensitivity treatment is used, such as Enlighten, and to have some dentist applied de-sensitising treatment performed beforehand. Also it is important your gum problems are also being managed properly. Best to discuss matters with your nearest high quality cosmetic dentists before getting any treatment

I dont recommend home kits. You need a dentist involved in case you have to deal with sensitivity or other issues .
