Is it too late for alterations to be made to my porcelain veneer?

Q.
Dear Dr Mark Hughes,

I have recently put a porcelain crown on my front upper tooth. Once anaesthesia stopped acting I noticed discomfort as feel it all the time and cannot chew properly as it feels like there is not enough room for my lower tooth. My friends say I will get used to it but I tend to think it is too big for me. Can the alterations be made or it is too late now?
Please help.
Thank you.

Yes quite often some adjustment or alteration of the porcelain tooth may be required. it really depends on how much alteration is required to make everything fit and function properly in your bite.

Your dentist should be able to make some minor adjustments. Any major adjustments might require a complete remake but it’s best you check with the person who made the crown in the first place

If there’s anything mroe serious going on, such as a problem in the nerve of the tooth or infection, then your dentist should be able to detect that too

All the best

Mark
