Is it possible to replace metallic crowns with ceramic crowns?

Q. I have asked my dentist if the 6 caps can be replaced as they are showing the metal at the top of my gums, they have said that the posts are very big and their is a chance that the roots can break, Is their any thing that can be done, I have also got 5 teeth missing lower left, I have tried to wear the denture, it makes me gag, I have problems eating with them, can this be sorted out, And if so what can be done and what would the cost of this approx be.

A. I would recommend a detailed clinical  examination to give you your options.

Crowns can be replaced in many circumstances with all ceramic crowns. Of course the gums and teeth have to be checked firstly.

Another alternative to dentures could be implants, which would provide a fixed solution.
