is it possible for a tooth nerve to die with only the symptom of my tooth has pressure in it?

Q. thanks so much for your reply about my q’s on my niggling re-filled molar. is it possible for a tooth nerve to die with only the symptom of it feels like my tooth has pressure in it? it does not feel normal. i have no unbearable pain just the odd sLight shooting pain and no hot cold sensitivity. SO BASICALLY IS MY TOOTH DIEING QUIETLY? i thought it was incredibally painful when that happens? KIND REGDS

A. The nerve can die chronically underneath a deep restoration, however giving the mildness of your symptoms, and lack of xray change, I would ensure the bite on the tooth ahas been thoroughly checked before in anyway contemplating root canal
