Is it normal to get pain and aching or strange sensations after crown fitted

Q. I had a crown fitted a couple of years ago on a bottom molar. I suffered a lot of pain shortly after it was fitted and at an emergency appointment with a dentist it was necesary for a hole to be put in crown to relieve pressure caused by bleeding. The hole was of course filled afterwards. The crown is still sensitive from time to time – I get pain or aching or strange sensations which lasts for a few days and then it settles. Is this normal and if not what is the likely cause?

A. Maybe your bite need to be adjusted or maybe there is another underlying problem.
I recommend you book an appointment with your dentist for a bite adjustment and to have an x-ray taken.
