is flagell usefull in treatment for abscess

Q. hi dear doctor iwanna ask u if the drug (flagell)usefull in treatment of periapical abcess more than amocillin and why

A. This drug is specific for Anaerobic ( without oxygien) bacteria which are often the cause of periapical abscesses .  This is thae reason why some dentists prefer this antibiotic for periapical abscesses tather thatn the more generalised amoxycillin.  The side effect of Flagell ( metronidazole ) tend to be more upset stomachs than amoxycillin.
