Is breaking and resetting jaw only way to fix teeth?

Q. I have gappy and buck teeth , i was told that i may need my jaw brocken to re set my teeth, is this the only way and where would i find a good cosmetic dentist many thanks. ps my teeth making my life a misery i am 43yrs old,
A. Hi there, I am sorry to hear that you feel miserable about your teeth. It all depends on the severity of your buck teeth. Orthodontics may help in bringing the teeth in, but as you may have been told in the past, your jaw may need to be broken and re-set. The only way to find out fully is to visit a cosmetic dentist or orthodontist to see what your options are. You could even consider having full mouth restorations- this is not something to consider lightly, but nevertheless it is an option. It will not correct the malalignment of the jaw, but will create the illusion of straighter teeth. This may compromise the health of your teeth and is not something that I would normally recommend, but if jaw surgery is not suitable, then this may be an option in regaining your smile. Good luck and I would be more than happy to see you for a consultation at any of my kissdental clinics for a free consultation.
