Q. Hello I am 22 years old. My problem is that in those 22years I have had 32 fillings. I went to the dentist today and ave been told I need another 7! I had 6 baby teeth out when I was about 6-I had 6 fillings in my baby teeth- I have had 5 different types of braces. My teeth look ok but they are like chalk! My problem is it cost so much money for these white fillings I am having but I would never have a silver one as alot of my fillings are on the fronts of my teeth- My dentist has said long term I am looking at a mouth full of crowns. My question is shall I continue to pay for these fillings or start having my teeth crowned?? I have been told I have very good gums and I have great dental hygiene. My dentist has said I have some sort of desease in my teeth were the holes grow from the inside of my teeth- I have to be x rayed every time I go to the dentist. Thank you
A.
Your dentist is the best person to advise you as to the correct treatment for your teeth. There may be a problem with your diet if you regularly have decay in your teeth. Write down everything you eat, including snacks and drink, and let your dentist assess your diet. You may have a high sugar diet without realising it.
