I’m Wondering How I Should Treat The Chip In My Tooth. With Veneers Or Reshaping?

Q.
Hello Dr Moore. I hope you can help me. My enquiry relates to the fact that I have a chip on my front tooth that is filled with composite, however this constantly keeps coming off. I have been told a veneer is an option however I am wondering if having the tooth reshaped would be a better option? I am worried that the chip in my tooth may be too large to reshape. Any advice you could offer would be great as this is something that constantly worries me and affects my confidence. Thanks, I look forward to any advice you can offer.

Hello and thank you for your enquiry. Based on my past experience I would say that reshaping works well if the chip is less than 1 mm in size. I would most likely need to see it in person to decide what would be the best course of action for you. If it is in fact too big, you might want to consider a veneer. Shop around your local clinic for the best deal. Hope this helps. Regards, Dr Andrew Moore.
