I’m going to have sedation dentistry, should I be anxious?

Q.
My dentist has had three attempts to remove my lower left 4. Each time it would not knumb suficiently so she has refered me for sedation. I am not nervous of having teeth out but I am anxious about sedation. Can you re-assure me. Thanks
A.
What kind of sedation have you been referred for? There are several types to consider. It could be oral or intravenous or even using Nitrous Oxide, what we call relative analgesia.

You can rest assured that in the right hands all these procedures are safe with low risks and I’m sure your dentist has referred you to an excellent place.

If you have any doubts about the procedure them you can always ask to speak to the dentist and/or the person administering the anaesthesia and sedative before you actualy have anything done. This should assist with giving you some peace of mind

Good luck with your treatment
