Im coming to newcastle from malta and want a perfect smile how much would this cost ?

Q. Dear Dr. Caplan, first of all i would like to point out that i am a maltese citizen and live in malta. i’m hoping to visit newcastle for a holiday, and while there i would like to achieve a perfect smile. i would like to know if possible, an approximate amount of expences this would involve. Best Regards L

A. Dear L,

Although you haven’t mentioned them I presume you know that to get an immediate perfect smile you would need to have your teeth veneered. Obviously you would need to be checked that you were suitable to have veneers from a health and functional point of view. Presuming all the above I will try and give you an idea of cost.

Cost is a difficult thing to generalize about. You really do get what you pay for. A lot depends on the experience and training of the dentist and where they are situated. I know that there are some dentists charging in the region of £300 per veneer and some charging in the region of £3000 per veneer! In my practice in St Albans we charge in the £900 region. This allows me to provide high quality veneers. If I was in Harley Street in London my prices would be nearer the £3000 mark.

Be careful about going for the cheapest option. Find out the experience of the dentist and look on their web site for pictures of their work. You only have one set of teeth and you should make your decision not on price alone.

As you are coming from Malta you also need to consider the length of time for the procedure. Many dentists need to use a dental laboratory technician to make their veneers. This can take the better part of a month for the veneers to be ready to be fitted. I use a Cad Cam system allowing me to create a perfect smile in a day which may be of interest to you.

I hope this helps.
