I’m 19 Years Old And I Want To Know If I Can Get Braces Through The NHS?

Q.
Hello. I need to tell you that I’m 19 years old and on job seekers and I was wondering whether I can still get braces for free as they are starting to hurt on the gums for no apparent reason? Do you know why this is? When I would go to the dentist they said they can’t find the problem, and also on my left side, I have one of my teeth going inwards, but in the past my dentist was only offering the braces treatment, which were the ones you can remove which were no help, so is there any chance of getting free braces as I am now getting older and need to know the cut off? I hope you can help me with my questions and I thank you in advance for any consideration.
A.
Thank you for your enquiry, NHS orthodontics are available if your teeth are bad enough, and there is a score system to assess you. Without seeing you personally at my clinic I am unable to offer you the full diagnosis you require, unfortunately. Kind Regards Dr Riten Patel.
