I’m 15 And Desperate For Braces, Can You Advise Me?

Q.
Hello,

I’m really concerned about my teeth. First of all I absolutely hate them, as I feel my ‘fangs’ stick out and am currently looking into braces. However the teeth to inside (toward the centre of my mouth) are becoming wobbly and i’m really scared they will fall out. I’ve always had problems with my teeth and now I have 4 fillings (that are silver and not white, which I don’t know why) I’m 15 is that helps and currently really wanting braces so any other help on them would be great. I”ll be okay for receiving braces through the NHS won’t I? Is it when you’re 18 and over you have to pay for brace treatment? Otherwise I won’t be able to have anything done because I don’t have any money, I’m only a teenager! Thanks for your help.

Hello, thank you for your question. I think you should go to an NHS orthodontist as soon as possible to see if you’re suitable for braces. Remember that when you’re over 16 you will have to pay. I hope this helps.
