If I Have My Wisdom Teeth Removed Will My Cheekbones Look More Defined?

Q.
Hi there. I’m a 22 year old male. I have 3 almost fully grown wisdom teeth. (One which is currently on the bottom scratching against my cheek- like the others had done) I am however annoyed that the structure of my face has changed because of them. My cheekbones used to be incredibly more defined and so was my jaw. I am unsure if it was the onset of the wisdom teeth that have detrimentally manipulated the structure of my face of if it was just my face maturing into a more masculine shape- (but wisdom teeth are a sign of maturing) Anyways I was wondering what I could do if I wanted to remove them? If that was a possibility- And how much it would cost to do so? (I have read about models taking out wisdom teeth to create more defined cheekbones) And also if i did remove them-would my cheekbones and jaw line go back to the way they were? thank you
A.
The wisdom teeth don’t change your face, its just the way you’ve matured has happened at the same time as the wisdom teeth have erupted so removing them won’t make a difference

Hi,

I left a similar question for an expert earlier but haven’t heard back yet. I live in the U.S. but have been inquiring about wisdom teeth and facial changes to European doctors as I think they’ll be more objective (as the procedure isn’t as common). But I’ve now heard from one London craniofacial expert, Korean doctor, and a few American dentists and oral surgeons that facial changes are possible and/or probable. I don’t mean to undermine your answer as I know you have more expertise than I do, but I’m wondering if mainstream dentistry/oral surgery could be wrong on this? I know it took a few decades before it was commonly known in the dentistry community that bicuspid extractions change the facial contours, so could this be the case with wisdom teeth? I guess what concerns me most is that in all my research I’ve yet to find a single study observational or otherwise that documents the esthetic effects of removal. And I’m wondering how it would be possible that removing 4 teeth would have no effect on the jaw if it’s true that teeth stimulate the jawbone and their absence cause it to atrophy? Wouldn’t the face not only lose fullness from the teeth themselves but the bone that accompanied them? Since I have not one study to go off of all I have is conflicting medical opinion and my own experience; and I feel that my face narrowed slightly after removal. My face used to be square shaped and now it is oval, both in pano x-rays and outwardly..so I’m wondering if in your opinion dental implants might remedy this change? Thanks so much for your time and expertise.
