If a front tooth is knocked loose, will it require dental treatment or will it repair itself?

Q.
Today in a fight my front left hand tooth was knocked loose will this repair itself or will i need dental treatment
A.
Dear Enquirer,
I would strongly advise that you see a dentist immediately to assess if there has been any damage to your teeth and also the areas around your teeth including your gums, jaw bone etc. If the tooth was knocked loose, this normally means you have damaged the attachment of the tooth within it’s socket and this needs to be checked. If the tooth is savable, you will probably need to have a root treatment to this tooth as the nerve will probably have been affected. If you have fractured the tooth, it may well require extraction.
As there are several scenarios, it’s best to get reassurance from a professional.
I hope this helps,
Sunita
