I wonder if Invisalign is suitable for me or not?

Q. Hi, I’m adult and I have some awkward teething. I didn’t have it when I was a child but I guessed it became apparent case when I got older like last few years. My teething seems straight but my bottom teething row seems to be a bit forward than my top teething row. It is as if my jaw got dislocated a bit forward somehow! It caused me some difficulties in eating food like i couldn’t bite some food properly. I heard there was a solution which involved a jaw surgical (to take a bit of my jaw bone off so my jaw would be a bit smaller). I thought that was extreme. I wonder if Invisalign is suitable for this case, or not? (If not, what are other suitable options then?) Long question but many thanks for your kind helps!

A. I don’t think Invisalign will help you  if your bite is as it sounds. I would visit an Orthodontist for a full consultation to discuss all your options including braces or surgery

If you have a overbite and your lips start to grow would invisalign help straighten your teeth and help your lips get back to the normal size. thank you

  2. Colton says:

Hi, Could you please provide me with more details as regards to invisilign/6 month brace treatment. Will the consultation be free of charge? What arethe prices of each treatment? Thanks, Manpreet
One of my front teeth sticks out and I would like it removed and replaced with an implant. Is this something you would do and how much would it cost?

  3. Darren says:

Invisalign is a great alternative to fixed braces.

  5. Isaak says:

HI!,,, I have a couple a questions. the first one is when u aply almost invinsible braces on is it for all the customers? My second question is will it hurt when they apply the braces,, if yes what can you do to fix that problem. I have more questions ??? How long will the procedure take to applly to the patient. Do u need all your teeth to be taken out and newed for the braces to be put on ,,,, ? And if u play any sports that wiill need mouth guards to be put on what will u do?

  6. Maximus says:

Invisible braces don’t really hurt but they feel tight for a few days, most patients are suitable for them but you need a full assessment first

  7. Avery says:

hello I have been wearing my invisalign for about 2 weeks now and i just have a quick question about invisalign and eating. I always take my invisalign out when i am eating, but sometime do not get the chance to brush my teeth before i put it back in. SHould i always brush my teeth? and how long after the meal is over is it ok to put the aligner back in? thank you

  8. Gavyn says:

it is much better to brush and floss your teeth before the aligners go back in.

  9. Fatima says:

we are born all different, every person has their little issue about their bodies or face, now since i was a teenager my only dream was to have straight teeth, it is very important because when you talk and you see people they look at your teeth you just loose the idea of talking trying your best to not be the centre of attention when it comes to loud laghing so is it possible to have my teeth straight get rid of this gaps?

  10. Raul says:

Invisalign treatment is very often utilised to close gaps. I would recommend a full clinical and radiographical consultation from a reputable Invisalign Doctor in your area to assess your teeth and suitability for treatment. Best of luck with your treatment.

  11. Jalyn says:

I would like to have my teeth straightened without wires but I also have very, very sticky out front teeth. can i find any kind of treatment for this using invisalign, or is it better if i look for another option? if this is the case what brace do you think i could have? are there any braces that are fixed to your teeth that are also invisible? thanks

  12. Bethany says:

Hi there! Retracting your teeth back in place should not be a problem with Invisalign, but an assessment if you are a good candidate for this has to be done first. We do offer free Invisalign assessments in our practice, so if you are not too far away it would be good to evaluate you. Hope that helps

  13. Margaret says:

My 12 year old daughter is currently undergoing orthodontic treatment firstly to bring her bottom jaw forward and then eventually to straighten her teeth. She has a twin block appliance currently which causes her immense pain and discomfort. Do you think it is worth us exploring invisalign for her as a less painful approach.

  14. Helena says:

Hi I don’t feel invisalign would be appropriate. There could be alternative treatment options, but I would require to examine to give a definitive answer.

  15. Jalen says:

Hi Dr, I just have a single tooth out of place (upper tooth) what would the estimated cost and time of treatment be?

  16. Denise says:

If it is a simple case of alligning one tooth then, the cost would be from £1500.

  17. Abdullah says:

Hello can child or rather young teenagers have invisalign for their teeth? my son is 14 and he is really self concious about his front two teeth, which stick out slightly. I don’t think it would take much to move the tea into place, but I really want to get him treatment sooner rather than later, so he won’t suffer any taunts. thank you for your time doctor

  18. Semaj says:

    can l get invisalign if l m 13

  19. Kenny says:

what do you have to do to become an accredited invisalign dentist? i am looking at having the treatment but want to be sure that im not just goin to some cowboy orthodontist. also does the invisalign brace come with a retainer for afterwards? thanks

  20. Bryce says:

Hi , it is really down to experience. Invisalign provide a weekend course for accredited dentists. I personally feel that the dentist should have experience in all types of teeth straightening methods to be able to discuss the best option for the patient.

  21. Quinton says:

Do orthodontists and cosmetic dentists provide exactly the same service as far as Invisalign is concerned? How can I best assess different providers against each other? Many thanks!

  22. Nigel says:

I think the important things are 1. experience 2. does the dentist provide various cosmetic braces as well as conventional braces to provide all the options to the patient 3. how many invisable braces cases has the dentist done. Can they provide examples of there cases.

  23. Jarvis says:

I am trying to decide whether to go ahead with Invisalign and which dentist to choose. Could you tell me a bit about elite/prefrered providers? what does this status mean and what does one have to do to attain it? thanks

  24. Lyndsey says:

My advice would to find a dentist who has knowledge in all systems and then is able to offer you the merits of all systems so you are informed about the advantages and disadvantages of each system.

  25. Declan says:

Hi I have a very slight open bite at the front of my teeth the back join when i bite but when i talk sometimes you can see my tounge especially when i say “s” so it looks like a subtle lisp which is causin me confidence dificulties is invisilign something that could help this ? Thanks

  26. Anjali says:

I feel damon braces may be a better option, if you have an open bite.

  27. Cooper says:

how many months will invisalign correct the alignment of the teeth? and how much will it usually cost?

  28. Macy says:

Hi there! It depends on how much alignment we have to do for your teeth. The biggest the movement that is necessary to be done to straighten your teeth, the longest it will take. That is why I cannot answer your question before I can have a look at your teeth. Average treatment time is 12-18 months. Hope that helps

  29. Dana says:

Hello Dr Thorne, I hope you can help. I am looking to have my teeth in good order before my birthday, which is in October and just wondered whether it would be plausible for me to have straight teeth in this time? I have a few teeth that over lap on both my top and bottom teeth near the front of my mouth and I have never really been happy with them. It’s my big 30 this year and I was hoping for once to have a decent smile to surprise all my friends with. Do you think Invisalign can do this for me? thank you for your time and assistance

  30. Gabriela says:

Hi It depends on how far the teeth have to move to be straight. If you have Invisalign then even if the teeth are not fully straight by your birthday your smile will be better…but I’d get a consultation and treatment started as soon as possible! Adam

  31. Roland says:

Hi there, I am looking into getting Lingual braces. It is just one tooth at the front (on the top set) that crosses the other by about 3/4mm. I wondered if you had a rough guide of how much time it could take to move the tooth and also the price? Or maybe there is another alternative brace that could work quicker for me. (I really would like one that cannot be seen or barely been seen as I am 22) many thanks

  32. Ashleigh says:

We find Invisalign braces to work well, they are practically invisible and can be removed to clean your teeth and for eating. I am in the middle of a course of treatment with Invisalign and finding the whole experience very easy- perhaps they might work well for you?

  33. Lea says:

I have two slightly overlapping top central front teeth that i’d like to get an invisi-align for. At over £2.5k in the UK it’s too much of a luxury to treat myself to. Do you have any idea please how much it would cost in Romania? Am working in Brasov and around Transylvania this summer, and wondered if there was a decent dentist operating there that you could recommend to me. An email would be really helpful. Am there later July and August. Be great to set them straight again! I also need my teeth whitening and have a chip on another front tooth, the one next to the canine which needs to be added to with a little cap. Many Thanks,

  34. Lexus says:

i’m sorry i have no idea of costs in Romania, it is an expensive treatment so don’t expect it to be a lot cheaper if available at all.

  35. Desmond says:

Hello Ms Sepehrara. I have been considering braces for a long time and think I am going to opt for a more cosmetically viable option. I’m happy if the brace is either quicker or looks better than a generic set of train tracks. I have a tooth that sits higher up on the gum line than the rest of my teeth and as such I assume that means I cant have Invisalign. I am miffed as I like the look of this treatment. It is only this one problem on my top jaw that needs sorting hence why I have have been in a rush to fix it. Is there a particular fixed brace you would recommend to solve such a small problem? thanks

  36. Alyssa says:

Hi unfortunately it is impossible for me to say which type of treatment is appropriate with carrying out a radiographic and clinical examination. I am sure there is an appropriate treatment, but you would require a consultation.

  37. Shamar says:

Hello, I feel as though I need braces. I am 17 years old and I also want to know if I have to pay for them. I havent been to see a denstist for a very long time and I would like to make an appointment but I dont know where and when and I want to get them sorted before I am 18. Everyone in my family has had braces and I havent and now they all have perfect teeth and I want a confident smile. Thankyou…

  38. Leslie says:

Hi I would recommend you have a consultation with a dentist experienced in different forms of teeth straightening , and discuss what your options are. Unfortunately it is impossible for me to say what is appropriate without examining your mouth.

  39. Kaitlin says:

Hi., I am nineteen years old. I have an overjet and I need a way to fix this without extractions. I have moderate crowning on the top and I have spaces between my bottom, front teeth. I can tell, by looking, that my jaw is underdeveloped. Do you think Invisalign would work for me? I am desperate. I feel absolutely hideous and I long for the day that I can feel as beautiful as other women do. Help!

  40. Linda says:

Invisalign works well for lots of cases and might work for you. If you’d like to book in for an assessment at my clinic in Essex we can offer you a free consultation to see if you’re suitable please call 08443 87 87 88

  41. Damion says:

Hi I have recently invested in invisalign but it appears I am having an allergic reaction to them I am unable to wear the aligner due to having an almost immediate burning sensation in my throat and a production of thick phlegm. Is there any solution to this ?I have waited for the day to get my teeth sorted after an injury to my jaw but now I am unable to use the treatment. Thanks

  42. Rocco says:

Hi It could be possible you have an allergic response to the aligners – do you suffer from other allergies? It could also be wearing something in your mouth feels uncomfortable initially. Hopefully it is the latter but I wold cease to wear the aligners and contact you dentist immediately to discuss this with you and Invisalign. Good luck Adam
