I was told I needed root canal treatment, but can I just have it extracted instead?

Q. Hey I’m 29 and I recently went to the dentist and was told that I needed a root canal on tooth. my question is can I have it extracted instead?would this be a less costly procedure and what would be the wisest oh and if I have the extraction done would I be able to chew,
A. You are not obliged to have the tooth root treated, but having the tooth extracted will leave a gap- this may be a gap at the front of your smile- or the back. Root canal treatment can be quite expensive, but it is an option for saving your tooth. As for your question, you should ideally avoid the area initially after you have had the tooth taken out. You need to be aware that regaining a fixed tooth in the gap later on can be even more costly. Please dont rush into any treatment before you have considered all of your options.
