Q. I was attacked about 4 years ago and ended up with a broken front tooth, the one to the left of the two centre teeth, i still have just under half the tooth left, it has never caused me any problems although it is a bit awkward, but as it has been so long since it occured am i still able to get a dentist to fit a crown, or would there be a better option, i brush my teeth regulerly and make sure i always pay attention to the broken one, but i would like to get it fixed as i have not smiled in a photo for years, what sort of prices am i looking to pay, where should i go and is a crown the best option ?
A. A veneer or crown may well be a possibility. The tooth in question will need to be checked that it is still alive and that its root is not fractured. If the nerve is infected the tooth will need a root canal treatment prior to having the tooth restored. Within my practice such a treatment would cost between £645 and£1400 depending on how difficulty the treatment is.
