I want to replace my PFM crowns to eliminate the grey lines

Q. I need to get two old PFM front crowns replaced (they have metal posts) and two veneers to match. My own dentist said that I cannot have all porcelain crowns because of the posts and that he’ll have to do PFG crowns. I am desperately unhappy with my teeth and want to eliminate the gray lines on my crowns too. I’ve been told its a complex job to match 4 teeth - veneer-crown-veneer-crown. How can I find a cosmetic dentist who can do what I need. Can I still get porcelain crowns. I’m a low earner but what to invest in good work so I can finally not be embarrassed about my teeth (its causing severe depression and is ruining my life). I live in London but travel to Glasgow frequently. Would it be less expensive to get it down own of the capital? How much more expensive are porcelain crowns. My own dentist quoted £800 for the PFM. I don’t know where to turn. I need to resolve this in order to be able to live a normal life

 

A. ok the first thing to mention is all porcelain crowns such as procera or lava can completely mask the colour of the metal posts. secondly as long as the same porcelain is used to build up the crowns as is used to build up the veneers then a colour match between the crowns and veneers are easy to match. the cost of treatment in the city of london is always going to be higher. in manchester for instance i charge £695 per crown or veneer we do. hope this is helpful. if you require further assistance please do not hesitate to contact me.
